STUDIO

GARAGE AT THE BOTTOM OF OUR GARDEN

Our new house had a garage at the bottom of the garden, which we decided to turn in to a studio, where I could do my architecture work and play my guitars without bothering everyone else and where Claire could do her sewing.

We ripped off the garage door, cladded it out in OSB Board with lots of insulation and put in a large glass window. The outside of the garage has been painted with black-board paint, so that it can be decorated to look like whatever we want. Last summer, it was the sheriff's office and jail at our son's cowboy birthday party.

The storage shelves were found on a pavement being thrown out when a shop nearby decided to have a refurbishment. It was covered in sticky labels and was a bit of a labour of love to clean up, but it looks lovely now.

For the last few months the garage has mostly been used to get ready for our son's 'Knights and Damsels' party

We made the bunting to go in the 'medieval hall' that we hired for his birthday party
